Box Score The Misericordia University women's basketball team opened the season with a 74-58 win over Catholic at the Scotty Wood Invitational, Friday afternoon at Muhlenberg.
Hannah Seely led Misericordia with a game-high 23 points while her sister
Justine Seely had 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds in her collegiate debut.
Lauren Smicherko had 11 points and
Katie Drayton added 10 for the Cougars.
The Cougars closed the first half on a 16-5 run to take a 42-26 halftime lead.
Leading 26-21 with 8:09 left in the first half,
Hannah Seely sank a jumper and
Sam Baro grabbed a defensive rebound and drained a three-pointer at the other end for a 32-21 lead.

Nikki Baro made it 36-23 with 4:29 to go in the first half.

Justine Seely sank a short jumper to give MU its biggest lead, 72-43, with just under four minutes remaining.
Catholic closed the game on a 15-2 spurt over the final 3:30 to get within 16.
Misericordia will face Muhlenberg, Saturday at 6:00.
