Box Score The Misericordia University men's basketball team fell to 2-2 on Thursday after dropping a 67-65 decision on the road at Haverford.
Joe Busacca led the Cougars with 13 points on 5-9 shooting while
Cael Evans had 11.
Steve Ware and
Matt Greene added nine each and
Patrick Widdoss checked in with eight.
Haverford led the entire first half and went into the break with a 30-25 lead.Â
After Haverford made the first bucket of the second half, Greene hit a three to make it 32-28 and the Cougars eventually tied the game at 36-36 after another three-pointer by Greene.
The Cougars took their first lead of the night when Evans made a layup with 12:33 left to put the Cougars on top at 42-40. However a quick 5-0 Haverford run put the home team on top by three again.
Misericordia retook the lead at 6:21 when Ware made a layup to give MU a 54-52 lead but the Fords went on another 5-0 run to go ahead, 57-54. MU pulled within one again before a James Levine jumper took the lead back to 59-56.
An Evans layup with 2:39 pulled Misericordia within one once again, but the Cougars could not regain the lead.
A Busacca three-pointer with one second left made the score 66-65 but a Levine free throw with three seconds left iced the game.
Misericordia will play at home on Tuesday against Lebanon Valley.
