MU Women's Soccer Hosting FDU-Florham in Freedom Semi's

The Misericordia University women's soccer team will host FDU-Florham in the Freedom Conference semifinals, Tuesday, November 5 at 7:00 p.m. Mangelsdorf Field.

Ticket prices are: $5 adults, $4 seniors, $2 students.

Misericordia is the top seed after finishing the regular season at 16-2-1 overall and 7-0 in the Freedom Conference.  FDU-Florham is seeded fourth after beating Eastern 3-1 in the regular season finale.  The Devils are 10-10 overall and 4-3 in the Freedom.

Second-seeded Wilkes will host King's, Tuesday at 2:30 in the other semifinal with the winners to meet in the title game, Saturday.

The Cougars of Head Coach Mark Stauffer were unbeaten in the Freedom for the third straight season, including a 2-0 win over FDU-Florham 10 days ago.

Misericordia is led by a balanced scoring attack that features six players with double digit points.  Junior midfielder Megan Mahoney leads the team with 39 points on 13 goals and a school-record 13 assists.

Junior Megan Lannigan adds 33 points (14g, 5a) and Meghan Antrim has 22 points on 10 goals and two assists.

Junior Erin McGreal has 21 points (7g, 7a) and senior Alyssa Mocion has 17 points (5g, 7a).

Senior Emily Esposito adds 12 points (5g, 2a).

Misericordia outscored its opponents 65-8 thanks to a defense that posted 13 shutouts in 19 games.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maureen Ciccosanti has stopped 88.7% of opponent's shots while allowing just .41 goals per game.

Junior Erin Roberts has controlled the midfield for the Cougars while Nicolette Ruffler, Kylen Smith and Jess Buffa have anchored the defense.

Claire Donohue leads FDU-Florham in scoring with 29 points (13g, 3a) while Michelle Hickey (10g, 5a) and Samantha Messina (9g, 6a) add 25 and 24 points, respectively.

Annie George has two shutouts with a 2.05 goals against average.
