The Misericordia University men's and women's basketball teams will host DeSales for a “Coaches vs. Cancer Suits & Sneakers” doubleheader, Saturday afternoon at the Anderson Center.

The women's game will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the men's game set for 3:00 p.m.

“Suits & Sneakers” is a national event designed to raise awareness about the fight against cancer and the American Cancer Society by encouraging member coaches and their coaching staffs to wear sneakers with their suits at games.

The Misericordia women are 10-9 overall and enter the game tied for fourth place in the Freedom Conference at 4-5.

DeSales is in third place in the Freedom at 14-6 (6-3).  The Bulldogs won the first meeting between the teams, 77-62.

Junior guard Lauren Smicherko leads the Misericordia women in scoring with 13.2 points per game while Hannah Seely adds 11.3 ppg and a team-high 7.5 rebounds per game.

Tyann McDaniel adds 9.8 points per game.

The MU men, 10-10, are third in the Freedom at 6-3 while DeSales is in first place at 16-4 (8-1).

Matt Greene leads three Cougars in double figures with 12.4 ppg.  Steve Ware adds 12 points and 7.7 rpg while Cael Evans adds 10.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game off the bench.
