Box Score The Misericordia University women's basketball team dropped a 51-39 decision at Mt. St. Mary in non-conference action, Monday.

Tyann McDaniel led the Cougars with 12 points while Sam Baro had six points and a team-high six rebounds.

The first half was a defensive battle throughout much of the first half until Mt. St. Mary ended the period on an 8-0 for a 26-14 halftime lead.

Caitlin Kessler and Kayla Sileo both made layups to give the Cougars an early 8-4 advantage.

After six straight points by the Knights, Robin O'Dell pulled MU even, 10-10, with a layup with 8:40 remaining in the first half.

Sam Baro's layup tied it again, 12-12, but two McDaniel free throws were all the scoring MU could muster over the final six minutes.

Misericordia, 10-11, will travel to Eastern for a key Freedom Conference contest, Wednesday.
