Box Score The Misericordia University women's basketball team kept their Freedom Conference playoff hopes alive with an impressive 61-50 win over Delaware Valley, Saturday afternoon at the Anderson.
Hannah Seely had 20 points and 13 rebounds as the Cougars improved to 11-12 (5-7) and remained one game behind Eastern with two games remaining in the regular season.
Tyann McDaniel added 14 points and
Lauren Smicherko had eight points and nine rebounds.
Kayla Sileo scored all six of her points in a 90 second span to give MU a 27-22 lead late in the first half.
Caitlin Kessler added a short jumper to the Cougars to halftime with a 29-22 advantage.
After the Aggies pulled even, 43-43,
Sam Baro drained a three-pointer from the right win for 46-43 lead with 8:05 to play.
McDaniel buried a three from the left wing less than a minute later and
Nikki Baro followed with a short jumper in the lane for 52-46 lead with 3:50 to go.
Sileo found
Nikki Baro open underneath the basket and she converted a three-point play to put MU ahead, 55-48, with 2:12 remaining.
Seely's layup made it 57-48 and Smicherko added four points in the final 30 seconds.
Misericordia will visit King's, Wednesday at 6:00.
