The Misericordia University men's tennis team swept the doubles competition and had four double-winners on the day en route to their first victory of the season with an 8-1 decision at Rosemont Friday afternoon.
Sal Saraniti,
Tony Goodall, Nick Hendry and
Eric Correll each earned a pair of wins on the day. Saraniti won a 6-1, 6-2 match at first singles after teaming up with
Robert Knipper for an 8-3 victory at first doubles while Hendry and Goodall added victories at third and fourth singles, respectively, to their 8-3 second doubles win.
Correll teamed with AJ Grasso for an 8-1 victory at third doubles to complete the doubles sweep and then earned a 6-3, 6-4 win at sixth singles.
Christian Pugliese didn't drop a single game to earn a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles.
The Cougars will return to action tomorrow at FDU-Florham at 11:00 am.
