Tony Goodall earned a hard-fought victory at fourth singles but it would be the Cougars' only victory of the day as the Misericordia University men's tennis team fell 8-1 at FDU-Florham on Saturday afternoon.
 
Goodall swept the first set 6-0 before falling to Ryan Kearns 6-4 in set two. He then gutted out an 11-9 victory in the tiebreaker to earn MU's lone win.
 
Sal Saraniti and Robert Knipper had a strong showing in an 8-4 loss at first doubles.
 
The Cougars return to action at King's on Tuesday.
