Misericordia University won two of three doubles matches and captured five of six singles flights to defeat host Cortland, 7-2, in a non-league women's tennis dual match, Thursday at Cortland.
Breanne Phillips and
Megan Meyers were double-winners for the Cougars.
Phillips won 6-3, 6-2 at first singles and teamed with
Emily Hullings to win 8-4 at second doubles while Meyers won 6-1, 6-2 at sixth singles and joined
Emily Gherghel at number three doubles for an 8-5 win.
Michelle Cameron,
Cassie Foy and
Emily Gherghel added singles wins for MU.
Cameron won 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) at number one while Foy won 6-3, 6-4 at number two and Gherghel won 6-3, 6-1 at number four.
The Cougars will compete at the Goucher Invitational this weekend.
