Meghan Stack had 15 kills to lead the Misericordia University women's volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-17, 25-27, 25-13, 25-20) win over Immaculata, Wednesday night at the Anderson Center.
Shelby Brochetti had 11 kills and
Kellyn Swanson added 10 as the Cougars improved to 2-2.
Megan Curry had 37 assists and
Nicole Tagerty had four aces.
Stack had two kills as the Cougars broke a 10-10 tie in the opener and added an ace for a 16-12 lead.
After Swanson hit through two blockers to make it 21-15, Stack had three straight kills to give MU a 24-15 lead.
Swanson ended the opener with a kill just inside the left side.
Trailing 22-11 in the second set, Brochetti had four kills and Tagerty added a pair of aces as MU charged back to tie the score, 25-25, before IU answered with two straight points to salvage a win.
The Cougars took advantage of four Immaculata errors to open an 8-2 lead in the third game.
Lexi Giannone added three aces in a four-point span to stretch the lead to 16-7.
Swanson had a pair of kills to make it 21-9 and she added an ace to put MU ahead, 24-12.
Korgeski ended the set with a well-placed bump pass.
Kate Steussy had two kills to give the Cougars a 12-6 lead in the final set.
Brochetti and Steussy combined for three points as MU took a 20-15 lead and Stack added two kills to close out the match.
