Box Score Justine Seely had a double-double and led three players in double figures as the Misericordia University women's basketball team rallied for a 65-58 non-conference win at Drew, Tuesday afternoon.
Seely tied for the game-high with 20 points and had a game-high 12 rebounds while
Sam Baro and
Nikki Baro added 18 and 10 points, respectively.
Seely tied a school record with seven blocked shots.
Sam Baro converted a three-point play with just under six minutes to play to give the Cougars the lead for good, 51-49.
Shannon Croasdale followed with a jumper and made the second of two free throws to make it 55-50 with four minutes to play.
Nikki Baro's jumper and a Seely layup put MU up, 59-51, with 3:02 left and the Rangers never got closer than five points the rest of the way.
After falling behind 18-11 midway through the first half, the Cougars charged back to take a one-point lead.
Lauren Oertner started the comeback with a layup and Seely added a layup to pull within 18-15.
Drew scored, but
Nikki Baro followed with a jumper and Seely had back-to-back layups to put the Cougars in front, 21-20, with 2:38 left in the half.
Drew responded with a 9-3 run to close the half and take a 29-24 lead at intermission.
The Rangers opened the second half with a pair of layups to take a 33-24 lead before the Baro sisters combined for 10 points during a 13-2 MU spurt to take a 37-35 lead.
Trailing 45-41, Seely's layup and two free throws by Katie Dayton tied the score, 45-45, with less than 10 minutes to go.
Drew went ahead for the last time, 49-48, before
Sam Baro's three-point play put the Cougars in front to stay.
Misericordia improved to 6-6 and will return to Freedom Conference action January 15 when they travel to Eastern.
