Box Score The 15
th-ranked Misericordia University women's soccer team dominated FDU-Florham from start to finish, leading to a 4-0 victory over the Devils at Mangelsdorf Field on Saturday afternoon.
Meghan Antrim was terrific, scoring three goals to lead the Cougars in the victory while
Megan Mahoney had three assists and
Amber Hartranft added a goal.
Erin McGreal added an assist while
Maureen Ciccosanti and
Alyssa Pojero combined for the shutout in goal.
Antrim got the Cougars on the board in the 16
th minute, heading in McGreal's cross from the far side of the field.
Both offenses were silent for the remainder of the half, but it was the MU offense that would explode in the 63
rd minute. The Cougars scored their final three goals between the 63
rd and 72
nd minute to put the game out of reach.
Antrim started the scoring spree, heading in a corner kick from Mahoney. She then scored her third and final goal, finishing a beautiful through ball from Mahoney in the 66
th minute.
Hartranft then solidified the Cougar victory finding the back of the net on Mahoney's cross from the far side of the field to make it a 4-0 game with less than 20 minutes to play.
Mahoney, Roberts and McGreal all added scoring chances late in the game, but the four goals the Cougars were able to muster were more than enough in the victory over the Devils.
The Cougars owned a 19-4 advantage in shots and dominated time of possession.
With the win, MU improves to 14-2 overall and 6-0 in the Freedom Conference. The Devils fell to 5-8-2 and 1-3 in the conference.
The Cougars return to action Wednesday night for a showdown with 17
th-ranked Ithaca College at 7:00 at Mangelsdorf Field.
