Box Score When the Misericordia University women's soccer team needs a goal, they look no further than Meghan Antrim.

The junior midfielder delivered, yet again, scoring her team-leading 15th goal of the season in a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over 14th-ranked Ithaca College on Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Just 1:15 into overtime, Antrim put herself in great position to flick the ball into the back of the net from just in front of the keeper after Kristen Ritter served up a great ball on a direct kick from 45 yards out, following an Ithaca foul that sent Erin Roberts to the ground.

Megan Mahoney and Alex Gallagher had the Cougars first two goals while Roberts added an assist in the victory.

The #15 Cougars dominated the first half, jumping out to a 2-0 lead at intermission. Mahoney struck first, bending the ball into the top left of the net on a shot from 25 yards out in the 11th minute.

Erin McGreal made a great play to keep the MU attack alive and then passed it to Roberts who found Gallagher with a through ball. Gallagher then hammered it past the keeper to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead in the 34th minute.

McGreal had a chance of her own earlier in the game, but the shot went just wide.

Kylen Smith nearly gave the Cougars a 3-0 lead late in the first half, but Beth Coppolecchia made a diving save for the Bombers.

Ithaca fought their way back into the game in the second half.

Holly Niemiec brought the Bombers to within 2-1 in the 74th minute. The Cougars then tried to play keep away, but Kelsey King picked up a goal with just over two minutes left in the game to tie the score at 2-2.

Mahoney nearly gave the Cougars the victory in regulation, but her shot from 20 yards out went wide left and the teams headed to overtime.

Antrim then provided the game-winner just 1:15 into the overtime period to give the Cougars a key non-conference victory over a nationally ranked opponent.

MU held a commanding 20-10 leads in shots and 11-2 advantage in corners while Maureen Ciccosanti made four saves in net for the Cougars in the victory.

With the victory, MU improves to 15-2 while Ithaca falls to 13-3.

The Cougars return to action Friday afternoon at 3:00 for a showdown at DeSales. Both the Bulldogs and the Cougars a perfect 6-0 in Freedom Conference play heading into the regular season finale. The winner of Friday afternoon's match will earn the #1 overall seed in the Freedom Conference Championships, which are slated to begin Wednesday, November 5.
