Box Score The Misericordia University women's basketball closed out its home schedule with a 70-59 loss to King's, Tuesday night in the Anderson Center.
Hannah Seely led the Cougars with a double-double, which included 13 rebounds and 10 points. She also finished her final home game with five assists.
Nikki Baro led the team in scoring with 13 points and
Sam Baro was the final Misericordia player in double figures with 11 points.
Kayla Feairheller and Marissa Manning scored 21 points each and the bulk of the Monarch's points. Feairheller and Manning also combined for 13 rebounds, 11 of which were offensive boards.
The Monarchs jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead and led by as many as 32-15 in the first half. The Cougars cut the deficit to 10 at the half. Misericordia gained momentum early in the second half and a
Katie Drayton reverse layup brought the Monarch's lead to just three at 41-38 with 15:38 left in the second half.
Sara Krupinski picked up a steal and turned it into a quick layup. Manning then scored back-to-back buckets for the Monarch's extending their lead to 46-38.
Nikki Baro drained a mid-range jumper bringing the Cougar's to within 46-42 with 11:28 left in the game. Later in the half
Sam Baro nailed a three from right in front of the Cougar bench cutting the Monarchs' lead to just three at 50-47.
King's closed out the game on a 20-12 run, improving to 7-17 (3-10). Misericordia fell to 8-15 (4-9) and travels to Manhattanville for the regular season finale Saturday afternoon.
