Box Score 2 The Misericordia University women's volleyball team lost a pair of matches to SUNY-Geneseo and RIT, Saturday in the Anderson Center.

The Cougars fell to Geneseo, 3-0 (25-23, 25-11, 25-16) and RIT, 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-19).

Nicole Tagerty was one of six players with three kills against Geneseo and added seven assists while
Kellyn Swanson and
Shelby Brochetti had three kills and six digs.

Brochetti and
Meghan Stack both had six kills against RIT.
Â
Against Geneseo, Tagerty opened the match with an ace and Stack had a kill and ace to give the Cougars an 11-6 lead.

Swanson and Tagerty teamed for a block and a 17-12 lead and Brochetti hit through a pair blockers to make it 18-13.

The Knights to tie the score, 21-21, and went ahead 24-22 with back-to-back aces before closing the set with a kill.

Geneseo led wire-to-wire in the second set and closed the match with a 6-0 run to take the finale.

RIT broke a 10-10 with a 15-4 spurt to take the first set, 25-14.

Tied 9-9 in the second set, Geneseo scored seven straight points and then used a 6-0 run to win 25-13.

The Cougars were impressive in building an 18-8 lead in the third set. Swanson had a kill and ace to give MU an early 4-1 lead Collins hit through a double-block for a 16-8 advantage.

Brochetti followed with an ace and Stack smashed a cross court shot from the left side to put MU up, 18-8.
Â
But, the Tigers scored 17 of the final 18 points to win, 25-19.

MU, 1-3, will visit Immaculata, Wednesday.
