Box Score The Misericordia University women's soccer team picked up an early goal and never looked back en route to a 3-0 victory over Stevenson University on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Amber Hartranft,
Meghan Antrim and
Alexa Alchevsky scored the goals for MU while Mahoney had two assists and
Megan Lannigan added one assist in the Cougar's win.
The Cougars defensive unit was stellar yet again, allowing just two shots. They have yet to allow a goal this season, outscoring opponents 13-0 through just four games.
Maureen Ciccosanti played almost the entire game and had one save, despite not seeing a legitimate scoring chance from the Mustangs offense all afternoon.
Hartranft gave MU a 1-0 lead, finishing a beautiful pass from the far side of the field from Mahoney just 4:09 into the game. The Cougars, despite numerous chances, led 1-0 at the half.
Mahoney helped give MU a 2-0 lead early in the second half with yet another perfect cross from the far side of the field. Antrim finished and gave the Cougars a huge insurance goal.
Alchevsky had the final goal of the game with a header off of a perfect corner kick by
Megan Lannigan at the 62:21 mark.
The Cougars improved to 4-0 on the season and return to action Wednesday night at 7:00 against Franklin & Marshall in Lancaster, PA.
