Box Score The Misericordia University men's soccer team held the momentum for much of the first half and even jumped out to an early 1-0 lead. However, York's offense awoke in the second half for three unanswered goals as the Cougars fell 3-1 to the Spartans on Saturday evening at Mangelsdorf Field.
Barry Kabinoff had the lone goal for the Cougars while
Barry Fitzgerald had three saves in net.
Kabinoff's goal came in the 31st minute and capped the Cougars first half momentum. MU finished the game with 12 shots and seven of them came in the first half.
Ryan Ockford tied the game at 1-1 when he heeled a ball into the net for the Spartans in the 49th minute. Matt Freibaum then gave York the lead with an unassisted goal in the 51st minute and just five minutes later Greg Bechard provided an insurance goal for the Spartans.
MU had a flurry of chances throughout the second half, but couldn't find the back of the net.
With the loss the Cougars fall to 4-2-2 while the Spartans improved to 3-1-3.
MU is back in action Wednesday afternoon at Lebanon Valley.
