The Misericordia University women's soccer team used two first half goals to move past Eastern, 3-1, Saturday.
Nicole Palanza,
Jacqueline Stevens and
Rileigh Jo Evitts each scored a goal for the Cougars with
Hannah Larkin providing an assist.
The Cougars scored the first goal in the 28
th minute, Palanza found the back of the net off a feed from Larkin.
A minute later Stevens scored, sending the Cougars into the half up 2-0.
In the second half Eastern got a goal back in the 60
th minute to climb within one.
In the 79
th minute Evitts iced the game for the Cougars.
Misericordia outshot Eastern 16-9 and took three corners.
MU moves to 10-2-1 on the year and 2-0 in the MAC Freedom.
The Cougars will host Wilkes, Tuesday at 7:00.
