Box Score The Misericordia University women's basketball team fell, 86-59, at #23 Eastern on Tuesday night.

Lauren Smicherko led the Cougars with 12 points and five rebounds while Shelby Brochetti added 10 points and a team-high five steals on the defensive end. Jaclyn Hajec finished with nine points and Meghan Antrim added seven points and four steals. Justine Seely had a team-high five rebounds. While a total of 10 players scored for MU in the loss.

The Eagles got out to a hot start to take the early lead, but the Cougars came back to make it an 11-10 game with 15 minutes left.

Eastern's offense heated up and that's as close as the Cougars would come, as the Eagles closed the half on 32-18 run to take a 13-point lead at the half.

The Eagles offense got stronger in the second half, leading to the 86-59 victory.

Eastern outrebounded the Cougars 24-15 while shooting over 50 percent from the field to earn the win.

With the loss, MU falls to 1-23 and 1-12 in the Freedom Conference while Eastern improves to 20-4 and 12-1 in the conference.

MU returns to action for its senior day, Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in the Anderson Center.
