Melina Juliano had three goals and an assist and
Brooke North added three goals as the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team cruised to a 15-2 win over Delaware Valley in a Freedom Conference game, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Olivia Garcia, Aliie Elmes and
Ashley Hobbs all scored twice for the Cougars.
Emily Hegner had a goal and an assist and
Erin Baker and
Caroline Clee both scored a goal.
Elmes added a team-high seven groundballs and six draw controls while Garcia had four groundballs.
MU took a quick 1-0 lead when Elmes charged from behind the net, spun around a defender and stuffed home a shot just 32 seconds into the game.
North followed with a free position goal and then bounced a shot inside the right post off a nice pass from Elmes for a 3-0 lead just over five minutes in.
Juliano scored three of MU's next four goals as the Cougars took a 7-0 lead with 19:16 to play in the first half.
Hobbs bounced in a shot and Baker scored a free position goal from the right wing to make it 9-0 with 16:26 to play.
Hegner closed out the first half scoring with a free position shot from the top of the circle seven seconds before halftime to make it 10-0.
Katie McLoughlin earned the win while
Jenn Gazdick made two second half saves.
MU improved to 5-6 overall and 2-0 in the Freedom. The Cougars will host Wilkes, Wednesday.
