MU Women Remain Unbeaten in Freedom

Liz Mulvey had four goals and two assists as the Misericordia University women's lacrosse team improved to 4-0 in the Freedom Conference with a 20-9 at Manhattanville, Saturday.

Olivia Garcia added three goals and two assists and Brooke North, Allie Elmes and Erin Baker all had three goals.

Melina Juliano had two goals and an assist and Madeline Mulhern scored twice.

Katie McLoughlin made seven saves in goal.

Elmes had five draw controls and three caused turnovers and Juliano added two draw controls and three caused turnovers.

Clinging to a 6-5 lead midway through the first half, the Cougars used an 8-1 run over the final 12:56 to take control of the game.

Juliano scored off an assist from Garcia to make it 7-5 and Mulvey sandwiched a pair of goals around a tally by North for a 10-5 lead with 8:25 to go in the half.

Garcia made it 11-5 with 5:47 to play, but the Valiants answered just 11 seconds later.

Juliano, Garcia and Mulhern all scored in the final 3:52 of the half.

Mulvey and Garcia scored in the first 10 minutes of the second half as the Cougars built a 16-6 lead with 20:11 remaining and the Cougars maintained at least a nine-point lead the rest of the way.

MU is 7-6 overall and will visit King's, Tuesday.
