The Misericordia University baseball team dropped a heartbreaking 7-6 decision in extra innings at DeSales on Wednesday afternoon.

Chris Boroch led the Cougars with three hits and one RBI while
Kyle Lindsay added two hits and two RBI.
Mike Comerford,
D.J. Navoczynski and
Alec Iurato drove in one run each in the loss.

Nick Deno tossed 2.1 innings of scoreless relief to keep the Cougars in the game.

MU scored one run in the sixth, one in the seventh, two in the eighth and two in the ninth to overcome an early deficit and force extra innings.

DeSales got out to a quick start, scoring four runs in the bottom of the third, taking a 4-0 lead.

MU got one back in the top of the sixth on Lindsay's RBI single to centerfield, cutting the Bulldogs' lead to 4-1.

The Bulldogs answered with two more runs in the home half, extending its lead to 6-1 after six.

MU then started to chip away at the deficit in the top of the seventh. Boroch started the comeback with an RBI double, cutting the lead to 6-2.

Iurato then added a sacrifice fly and Navoczynski roped an RBI triple, bringing MU within 6-3, heading into the home half of the eighth.

The Cougars then completed the comeback on back-to-back RBI singles from Lindsay and Comerford in the top of the ninth.

However, the Bulldogs won on a walk off single in the 10
th.

MU falls to 24-10 overall and 13-6 in the conference. DeSales improves to 25-13 and 19-2 in the conference.

The Cougars conclude their regular season with a doubleheader at FDU-Florham on Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
