The Misericordia University softball team dominated fourth-seeded King's College 6-0 to stay alive in the Freedom Conference Championships on Friday afternoon in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Whitney Ellenberg led the Cougars' offense with two hits and four RBI while
Megan Hardy added a solo home run and
Melissa Parker drove in one run.
Sam Hare,
Andi Veneziale and
Diana Kestenbaum finished with two hits each in the victory.

Bailee Schies got the start on the mound, allowing just four hits while striking out two over five innings in the circle.
Alissa Steier pitched the final two innings and struck out two while allowing just two hits.

Ellenberg's big day at the plate started with a bases-clearing double in the second to give MU a 3-0 lead after two.

Parker then extended the Cougars' lead to 4-0 with an RBI single right back up the middle.

Hardy provided the sixth and final run with a solo blast over the right field wall in the bottom of the fifth.

With the win, MU improves to 24-14, while King's finishes its season 17-14.

The Cougars will now face the loser of Friday's winners bracket game between top-seeded Desales and second-seeded Eastern, Saturday morning at 11 at the Betzler Complex in Wilkes-Barre.
