The Misericordia Field Hockey team lost their MAC Freedom opener to FDU-Florham, 4-2, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.
Lindsey Hischak scored both goals for the Cougars, while
Sarah Gamble and
Colby Eldridge each had an assist.
FDU-Florham scored twice early to take a 2-0 lead just eight minutes into the game.
Trailing 2-0, Gamble played a ball down the right wing for Hischak, who took the ball in and ripped a shot into the far left side of the cage in the 18
th minute
Misericordia conceded a goal off a corner and went into the half down 3-1.
Two minutes into the second half, the Devils scored again to take a 4-1 lead.
Eldridge played a ball in from the left side that Hischak put in to get the Cougars within two with 14 minutes to go.
Hischak is now fourth all-time in Misericordia history with 41 career goals.
The Cougars fall to 2-6 and will host Lebanon Valley, Tuesday at Mangelsdorf Field at 7:00.
