The Misericordia women's soccer team scored two first-half goals as they cruised to a 3-0 victory over Ithaca, Tuesday evening at Mangelsdorf Field.

Alex Gallagher, Kailee Crockett and Ashley Edgell each scored one goal apiece. Jacqueline Stevens, Evelyn Logie, Emily Szeflinski and Kristen Ritter each had one assist.

The teams traded shots early, with Stevens and Edgell both testing the Ithaca keeper. Alyssa Pojero made one save and saw two other shots go over her goal in the first five minutes.
Ten minutes later, MU struck twice in quick succession.

On the first goal, Ritter played a free kick into the box that Szeflinski one-touched over to Gallagher. Gallagher touched it past her defender and ripped a shot into the far side netting to make it 1-0.

A minute and a half later, Logie lofted in a cross with her left foot that found Crockett alone on the back post. Crockett shot the ball off the underside of the crossbar and in to make it 2-0 MU.

Crockett, Gallagher, Stevens and Logie all put shots on net, but the Bombers keeper stopped them all so Misericordia had to settle for a 2-0 halftime lead. MU held an 11-6 edge in shots in the first half.

Eight minutes into the second half, the Cougars put another into the back of the net.

A loose ball fell to Jeanna Orfanos around midfield and she kicked it ahead to Stevens. Stevens came down, beat a defender then fired a shot that the keeper deflected, but an onrushing Edgell tapped it in to make it 3-0.

Misericordia held a 24-12 edge in shots and a 9-1 edge in corners.

The win puts MU at 14-3 and they will wrap up conference play at Delaware Valley, Saturday at 12:00.
