The Misericordia University field hockey team dropped a tough 2-0 contest at King's, Friday evening.

The Monarchs scored a goal in each half to improve to 8-5 overall and 2-1 in the MAC Freedom.  The Cougars are 1-2 in MAC Freedom play.

MU had two corners and two shots in the opening minutes, but King's responded with the game's first goal on their only shot of the first half at 8:17.

King's added an insurance goal midway through the second half.

The Monarchs held a 7-5 advantage in shots while Misericordia had 11 corners while surrendering seven.

Kailey Vogl had three of Misericordia's five shots while Katelynn Campbell made two saves in goal.

MU will host William Paterson, Wednesday at 3:30.
