The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team dropped a tough 8-7 decision in double overtime, Tuesday afternoon at Arcadia.

Allie Elmes led the Cougars with three goals and
Erin Baker scored twice.

Ashley Hobbs and
Cara Spector both scored a goal.
Â
Elmes had a team-high five ground balls and
Liz Mulvey had an assist and three draw controls.
Â
Katie McLoughlin had 11 saves and five groundballs.
Â
Elmes scored a free position goal a man-up with just over a minute remaining to tie the game at seven.

The Knights scored the winner late in the second overtime.

MU jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first seven minutes from goals by Elmes and Spector before Arcadia got one back in the 11
th minute.

Four minutes later
Erin Baker scored to give MU a 3-1 lead but Arcadia struck again in the 19
th minute to get within one.
Â
Hobbs scored off a feed from Mulvey in the 23
rd minute before Arcadia found the back of the net a minute and a half later to make 4-3, which was the score at halftime.

In the second half Arcadia struck just two minutes in to knot it at four.

The teams traded goals three time times to make it 7-7 heading into OT.

Both teams took 23 shots, MU had the edge in free position shots, 4-3.

The Cougars had 21 turnovers to Arcadia's 23.

MU is 1-3 on the year and will host Hartwick, Friday at 4:00. Â
