The Misericordia University softball team extended its win streak to 10 games with a doubleheader sweep, 5-3, 19-4, Tuesday at Keystone.

Whitney Ellenberg hit a homer in each game and
Mackenzie Yurko added three hits in the nightcap.

Melanie Quintanilla had five hits on the day, including the 100
th of her career, and
Cailey Ware had two hits in each game.

Bailee Schies tossed a three-hitter to win the opener and
Maddie Stebich scattered six hits over five innings to win the nightcap.

In the opener, Quintanilla had three hits and drove in two runs and Ellenberg had a solo homer. Quintanilla and Ware both had doubles.

Ellenberg gave the Cougars a 1-0 with a solo homer in the top of the second. Ware walked and eventually scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0.

Lori Brennan and
Melissa Parker singled to start the third inning and Ware singled with two-outs to load the bases.Â
Diana Kestenbaum drew a walk to force in a run to give MU a 3-0 lead.

Ellenberg drew a one-out walk in the fifth inning and moved to third on Ware's double to left center. Quintanilla's two-out single to left field drove in two runs and put the Cougars ahead, 5-0.

Keystone put its first five runners on base in the bottom of the seventh to pull within 5-3, but Schies recovered to retire the next three batters to secure the win.

MU grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first in game two and added seven runs in the second and 10 in the third to put the game away.

Ellenberg had a bases-loaded double in the second and blasted a three-run homer in the third.

The Cougars are 12-6 and will host Penn State Abington, Thursday.
