The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team used a big second half to beat Marywood, 12-8, Thursday afternoon at Mangelsdorf.

Down 5-4 at halftime, the Cougars pulled even, 7-7, in the first five minutes of the second half and ended the game on a 5-0 run.

Erin Baker led the Cougars with five goals and Allie Elmes added three goals.

Kate McLoughlin made 10 saves to earn the win in goal.

Lindsay McKim had three groundballs and four draw controls for the Cougars.

The teams traded goals throughout the first half until Marywood scored two straight to take a 5-3 lead with 3:45 left before halftime.

Baker scored with :05 left in the first half and Cara Specdtor and Elmes scored early in the first half to give Misericordia its first lead, 6-5.

Marywood went back in front, 8-7, with 23:09 to go, but the Cougars responded with five goals in a four-minute span to take a 12-8 lead.

The Cougars are 5-6 and will travel to Delaware Valley, Saturday.
