MU Men's Lax Falls in MAC Freedom Final

The Misericordia University men's lacrosse season came to an end with a 13-7 at Eastern in the MAC Freedom championship game, Saturday evening at Villanova.  

Phil Fraher had two goals and an assist and Chris Fleming scored twice for the Cougars while Andrew Reynolds, Lane Kocovsky and Kyle Reese all added goals. Ryan Cannon had two assists and four ground balls and Pat Newins added five ground balls and two caused turnovers.  

Reynolds won 13 of 21 face-offs and Michael Farinaro had three caused turnovers. Josh Shanker made nine saves in goal.  

Fleming and Fraher scored first period goals and the Cougars trailed 3-2 after one period.  

Kocovsky tied it early in the second quarter, but the Eagles answered with two straight goals to take a 5-3 lead with 8:36 remaining in the first half.  

Reynolds scored with 4:07 left in the second and the score held for the rest of the quarter.  

Eastern scored four goals early in the third quarter and eventually took a 10-5 lead.  

Misericordia finished 10-7.
