Box Score The Misericordia University men's soccer team handed Rutgers-Camden their first loss of the season, 1-0, Tuesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.
Tristan Snyder scored off a
Barry Kabinoff assist midway through the first half and the MU defense made it stand up.
Kabinoff collected a ball played into the box from
David Malaquias from the left flank and played to the top of the box where Snyder ran on and whipped a low shot inside the left post at 30:36.
The Scarlet Raptors had three of their most dangerous opportunities in the closing minutes of the first half.Â
Matt Smith made a save on a re-start at 40:00 and Rutgers-Camden had shots sail high and wide right in the remaining minutes.
Dante Ippolito found
Devin Marriott on a run down the middle early in the second half, but the shot was right at Rutgers-Camden keeper James Brett.
Tristan Wright played a ball to
Trey Ziegler near the left post, but Brett made a point-blank save at 67:51.
Kabinoff ripped a shot from the top of the box, but Brett made a diving stop at 80:01.
The Scarlet Raptors had their final chance when they won a loose ball near the edge of the box and got a shot on an empty net, but MU's
Levi Roberts deflected the ball out of bounds.
Matt Smith had three saves to earn the shutout in goal.
MU will host Messiah, Saturday at 5:00.
