The Misericordia University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-10, 25-19, 25-9) MAC Freedom decision at Manhattanville, Wednesday.
Paige Shaughnessy led the Cougars with four kills while
Megan Collins had three kills and a team-high three blocks.
Michelle Sehested had three kills and two blocks.
Nicole Tagerty had 12 assists and nine digs and Shaughnessy and
Kaitlin Wheeler added eight digs each.
Manhattanville raced out to a 14-2 lead in the first set and closed the set on a 5-0 run to win 25-10.
In the second set, MU trailed 17-7 before going on an 8-2 run to get within 19-15.
Three kills by Shaughnessy kept the Cougars alive at 23-19, but the Valiants scored the last two points to close the set.
Manhattanville led the third set 9-6 before going on a 12-1 spurt to take a 21-7 lead.
The Cougars will visit Lebanon Valley for a tri-match with Widener, Saturday.
