The Misericordia University field hockey team scored three goals in an eight-minute span in the second half to earn a 3-1 win at William Paterson, Wednesday night.
Coleby Eldridge,
Kyleigh Knell and
Madisyn Granoski all scored while
Haley Gruber added a pair of assists.
After nearly 55 minutes of scoreless hockey, the teams erupted for four goals in the final 15 minutes.
Eldridge broke a scoreless tie off a corner 20 minutes into the second half.
Despite a defensive save by
Jenna Whitman, Paterson pulled even on a penalty stroke three minutes later.
The Cougars went back in front when Knell scored from in front with 10 minutes remaining.
Granoski added an insurance goal with a deflection with seven minutes to go.
The Cougars had a 9-5 edge in shots and had a 6-5 advantage in corners.
MU will travel to Delaware Valley, Saturday.
