The Misericordia University women's soccer team suffered its second consecutive 1-0 loss, Sunday afternoon at FDU-Florham.

The Cougars held a commanding 24-9 edge in shots, including three that hit the crossbar, with their last shot hitting the bar with one second to play.

Amber Hartranft nearly gave MU an early lead, but her shot hit the bar at 11:41.  FDU scored the game's only goal five minutes later.

Misericordia continued to attack and had several chances to tie, but Alex Gallagher's shot caromed off the crossbar at 85:24.

Jordyn Martini gave the Cougars one final glimpse of hope, but her header went off the crossbar as time expired.

The Cougars are 11-4-2 and are 4-2 in the MAC Freedom.  They have lost multiple conference games for the first time since 2010 after six unbeaten regular seasons in league play.

MU will host Delaware Valley in their regular season finale, Friday.
