The Misericordia University field hockey team clinched the second seed in the MAC Freedom championships with a 3-1 win at Wilkes, Thursday evening.
Colby Eldridge had a goal and an assist and
Kyleigh Knell and Tori Carsely both added goals.
Katelyn Campbell made three saves in goal as the Cougars won their sixth straight game to improve to 9-8 overall and 6-1 in the MAC Freedom.
Wilkes took a 1-0 lead just 1:34 into the game, but the MU defense held firm the rest of the night.
Eldridge pulled MU even with an unassisted goal at 20:14 and Knell put the Cougars ahead off a feed from
Madisyn Granoski nearly eight minutes later.
Carsley added an insurance goal early in the second half.
Campbell made two of her three saves as the Colonels earned five straight corners in the final eight minutes.
Misericordia will wrap up the regular season when they host Marywood, Saturday at 3:00 and will host Wilkes in the MAC Freedom semifinals, Wednesday.
