Michael Ciardullo scored a pair of goals as the Misericordia University men's soccer team closed the season with a 5-1 win over Delaware Valley on Senior Appreciation Day, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.
Senior
Niko Amity,
Evan Brown and
Curtis Brewer all added goals as the Cougars won for the third time in five games to finish 3-3-1 in the MAC Freedom.
Patrick Hoffman and senior
Bill Birmingham combined for four saves in goal.
Seniors
Devin Marriott and
Tristan Snyder also concluded their careers.
Ciardullo gave the Cougars an early lead when he took a deflection off a Del Val defender and buried a shot in the upper right corner at 12:09.
The Cougars made 2-0 just 23 seconds later when Ciardullo found Amity for a left-footed strike from 20 yards out.

Ciardullo took a through-ball from
Vincenzo Diliberti and finished for a 3-0 lead at 22:46.

Bryson Smith header off a corner was blocked near the right post and Brown knocked in the rebound for a 4-0 lead at 30:59.

After the Aggies got on the board midway through the second half, the Cougars answered when
John Caracappa crossing pass found Brewer and his close-range shot deflected of the Aggie's keeper at 71:20.
