The Misericordia University women's soccer team used four early goals from four different players to defeat the Golden Eagles of Brockport, 4-0, Wednesday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
The Cougars dominated the entire game, outshooting Brockport 25-5, including 15-5 on shots on goal, and had six corner kicks without conceding one on defense.
Ashley Edgell got the scoring started in the eighth minute when she received a ball in the box from
Emma Przyhocki in the box, turned and fired a shot past the keeper.
In the 16
th minute,
Jackie Stevens earned a penalty kick when she was tripped up by the keeper and subsequently buried her PK.
Just over a minute later,
Amber Hartranft scored her third goal of the season off an assist by Stevens to extend the Cougar lead to 3-0.
In the 29
th minute,
Alex Gallagher got into the action, corralling the ball in the box off a defensive miscue and fired a left-footed shot into the top left corner of the net.
Alyssa Pojero made two saves for Misericordia in the first half while
Alexis Benedetto added another save in the second half.
The Cougars, 8-2-2, will host DeSales, Saturday at 5:00 as part of Homecoming Weekend.
