The Duda family of Mineola, NY has a love of sports that can be traced to Misericordia.

Mike '01 was a four-year starter as a catcher on the Misericordia baseball team and was the all-time leader in fielding percentage and total chances/error upon graduation. He set the single-season record for chances/error as a freshman and helped the Cougars to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference playoffs.

Maureen '00 (Wagner) Duda was a four-year letter-winner and three-year starter as a back on the women's soccer team.

Mo was part of two PAC championship teams and four playoff appearance. She also served as a basketball statistician in the Sports Information Office and was the official scorekeeper for the baseball team.

Mr. & Mrs. Duda both earned the Coach's Award in their respective sports during their senior seasons.

A Kenilworth, NJ native, Mike was an elementary education major and currently teaches fifth grade in Port Washington, NY.Â

Mo was a math/secondary education major and teaches math at Valley Stream Central High School.

The Dudas have passed along their passion for sports to their five children: Mikie, 11, Maggie, 10, Mairead, 7, Matthew, 5, and Murphy, 1. The four older Duda children all participate in multiple sports, including soccer, basketball, baseball and volleyball. Mike and Mo both serve as coaches of their children's teams and play active roles as league officers.

When they aren't at a game, the Dudas can be found at Disneyworld or on a Disney cruise.
