The Misericordia University softball team ended its spring trip with a split on Friday.
After dropping the opener to Monmouth, 8-1, the Cougars beat Emmanuel, 5-0.
The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second against Monmouth, but the Fighting Scots broke the game open with five runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Lori Brennan had a double to lead MU.
In the nightcap,
Jordan Hoffman had two hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs.Â
Melanie Quintanilla added a triple and winning pitcher
Brooke Moyle aided her own cause with an RBI double.
Moyle struck out six while allowing just three hits.
Misericordia took a 3-0 lead in the second and added single runs in the third and fifth innings.
Brennan drew a one-out walk in the second and moved to second on Jess Pluta's single to center field. Hoffman singled to right and
Alexa Doggett gave the Cougars the lead with an RBI-single to right field.
Mackenzie Yurko made it 2-0 with a sacrifice fly and Moyle followed with an RBI ground-rule double.
Alexis D'Amico led off the third with a bunt single, stole second and eventually scored on Hoffman's sacrifice fly to right field.
Quintanilla led off the fifth with a triple to center and scored on Hoffman's two-out triple to right field.
The Cougars are 3-7 and will open MAC Freedom play at Manhattanville next weekend.
