The Misericordia University women's basketball season came to an end with an 82-65 loss to Stevenson in the ECAC Championships quarterfinals, Friday afternoon at Carnegie Mellon.
Justine Seely closed out her career with another double-double, including a season-high 27 points, and 16 rebounds.
Senior
Shannon Croasdale had seven points and five rebounds and
Rachel Carmody added eight points and five rebounds.
The Cougars finished their first season under head coach
Jason Rhine at 19-9.
After shooting just 30.0% from the floor in the first half, the Cougars were much better over the final 20 minutes as they shot 50.0% from the field.
A Seely layup and free throws from Croasdale and
Japriya Carroll got MU within 50-36 midway through the third period, that's as close as they came.
Stevenson shot 54.8% from the floor in the first half, including 6-12 from three-point range, to open an early lead and the Cougars never fully recovered.
