The Misericordia softball team lost a pair of games to King's, 4-2 and 12-7, Thursday afternoon at Anderson Field.
In game one,
Alexis D'Amico went 2-3 with a RBI and a walk.
Jordan Hoffman went 2-4 with a double and a run scored.
Taylor Kenerson went 2-3 with a run scored.
Neither team scored in the first inning, but MU broke through in the bottom of the second.
Hoffman led off with by smacking a double into right center. Kenerson knocked a single up the middle and got to second when the center fielder misplayed the ball. That also allowed Hoffman to score from second.
Brooke Moyle followed with a single to right that pushed Kenerson to third. With two outs,
Alexis D'Amico lined a single up the middle that plated Kenerson and made it 2-0 Misericordia.
King's scored a run in the top of fourth to make it 2-1.
The Monarchs took the lead in the bottom of the sixth via a three-run homer that provided the final margin. MU had the tying runs on base, but couldn't push them across.
In game two,
Jessica Pluta went 3-4 with a three-run homer, four RBI and two runs scored.
Melanie Quintanilla went 2-4 with a RBI and a run scored. Kenerson went 1-4 with a double and two RBI.
King's came out strong in the top first, scoring five runs. MU got one back in the bottom of the inning via a Quintanilla single to right that scored
Abby Marzzacco.
The Monarchs scored three more runs in the top of the third to take an 8-1 lead. Pluta singled to score Quintanilla and make it 8-2.
Pluta clobbered a three-run homer to left in the bottom of the fifth to get MU back in the game at 8-5.
King's scored four more runs in the top sixth to push their margin back up to seven at 12-5.

Victoria Schmidt and Pluta to provide the final runs of the game.
MU is 11-13 overall and 5-5 in the conference.
They will host Arcadia, Monday at 3:00.
