Box Score Jeanna Orfanos converted a late penalty kick to lift the Misericordia University women's soccer team to a 2-1 win in their season opener, Friday evening at Ursinus.

Lauren Anderson added a goal for the Cougars, who held an 18-3 advantage in shots.

Alyssa Pojero made two saves to earn the win in goal.

The Cougars trailed 1-0 at halftime despite allowing just two shots over the first 45 minutes.

Anderson pulled MU even with a goal off a re-start in the 70^th minute and Orfanos buried the game-winner with 3:02 remaining.

MU allowed just one shot over the final 45 minutes.

The Cougars will host Penn State Berks, Sunday at 2:00.
