Amber Hartranft scored early in the first half to lead the Misericordia University women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over RIT, Sunday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
Alex Gallagher assisted on the goal as the Cougars improved to 4-0-1.
Misericordia had a 10-7 edge in shots, including 4-1 on goal, and both teams had five corners.
Hartranft nearly helped give the Cougars a lead at 8:29 when she collected a loose ball on the left flank and found
Hannah Larkin in front, but Larkin's shot caromed off the left post.
Gallagher lofted a ball across the box from the right wing and Hartranft's volley went inside the left post for a 1-0 lead at 16:58.
RIT's best chance of the game came in 58
th minute on a cross from the right side, but
Lauren Anderson cleared the loose ball from the six yard line.
The Cougars had several dangerous opportunities in the second half.
In the 67
th minute, Gallagher beat a defender near the top of the box, but her shot was just wide left.
Two minutes later,
Gabby Babula raced down the right side, but to the middle and beat a defender, but her shot was deflected over the bar.
Larkin's corner at 73:12 got between an RIT defender and the left post, but the Tigers' keeper was able to scoop up the loose ball.
Misericordia will host Lebanon Valley, Wednesday.
