The Misericordia University women's volleyball team rallied for a 3-1 over Immaculata in their home opener, Tuesday night in the Anderson Center.
After dropping the first set, the Cougars took three straight to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Michelle Sehested had a team-high 12 kills and
Jassmine Watson added nine.Â
Kaitlin Wheeler had five aces and 15 digs and
Ariana Gagliardi had 23 assists.Â
Karley May added 19 assists.
Paige Shaughnessy had three service aces as the Cougars opened the second set with five straight points.
The Cougars took an 11-2 lead and used a 5-0 run to stretch the lead to 20-11.Â
Sarah Pool had two kills as the Cougars closed the set on a 4-0 run.
Trailing 16-14 in the third set, Watson, Welliver and
Coleby Charlier all had kills to put MU in front, 19-17.
Sehested and Shaughnessy had kills to close out the 25-21 win.
After falling behind 5-2 in the finale, the Cougars eventually scored six straight points to go ahead, 16-12. Wheeler had two errors during the rally.
Shaughnessy had an ace and Watson's kill closed out the match.
The Cougars will visit Rutgers-Camden, Thursday.
