Hannah Larkin scored twice and
Kendall Pearage had a goal and two assists to lift the 12
th-ranked Misericordia University women's soccer team to an impressive 3-0 win at Wilkes, Tuesday evening.
The Cougars improved to 11-2-1 overall and 5-0 in the MAC Freedom while handing Wilkes its first conference loss of the season.
Larkin got the Cougars on the board in the 21
st minute when she headed home a corner kick from Pearage.
Pearage took a pass from
Kate Field down the left side and placed a shot into the lower right corner to give MU a 2-0 lead just under five minutes into the second half.
Ashley Edgell neared made it a 3-0 lead just two minutes later, but Wilkes' keeper Samantha Cecere made a diving stop.
MU did add its third goal when Larkin tapped one in from in front of the net in the 72
nd minute.
The Cougars held a 16-5 edge in shots, including 8-3 on goal.
MU will host FDU-Florham, Saturday at 7:00.
