Box Score The Misericordia University women's volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat King's, 3-2, and clinch a MAC Freedom postseason berth.
Tara Welliver had 19 kills and
Jessica Oltman added 16 as the Cougars improved to 19-9 overall and 4-2 in the MAC Freedom.
Karley May had 61 assists and
Sarah Pool added 11 kills and 19 digs.Â
Kaitlin Wheeler had 12 digs and
Jassmine Watson had 11.
King's jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the opening set and never looked back en route to a 25-9 win.
The second set was much more competitive, but the Monarchs closed on a 4-0 run to win, 25-19.
The Cougars got kills from Pool and Welliver to take a 16-12 lead in the third set.
A kill by Oltman and Watson's ace stretched MU's lead to 24-19.
The Monarchs rallied with three straight points, but Pool's kill kept the Cougars alive.
Down 6-2 in the fourth set, Welliver and Oltman combined for four kills to key an 8-0 spurt to give MU a 10-6 lead.
Welliver added two more kills as the Cougars took a 14-8 lead and King's never got closer than three points throughout the rest of the set.
The teams traded points throughout the fifth set until Oltman ened it back-to-back kils.
The Cougars will visit Immaculaa, Thursday.
