The Misericordia University field hockey team earned a hard-fought 3-2 shootout win at Susquehanna, Wednesday night.

Kyleigh Knell and Madisyn Granoski both scored in regulation and Granoski and Kailey Vogl converted their shots in the shootout.

Katelyn Campbell made 14 saves in goal for the Cougars.

Knell gave MU an early lead with an assist from Allie Bianco just 5:15 into the game.

Susquehanna pulled even with just five minutes left in the first half and took a 2-1 lead with 16 minutes remaining.

Granoski answered just three minutes later to tie the score, 2-2.

Both teams had a chance to win overtime with Susquehanna's Hunter Pitman hitting the left post in the final minute of the first OT.

Tori Carsley's shot near the left post was saved with three minutes remaining in the second OT was swatted away and Vogl's rebound was just wide.

The Cougars will host DeSales for Homecoming, Saturday at 1:00.
