Jason Kenny scored 29 points to lead five players in double figures as the Misericordia University men's basketball team closed out the first semester with a 92-87 win at Wesley, Wednesday afternoon.
Alec Rodway had 10 points and a career-high 13 assists and
Noah Rivera added 17 points, nine rebounds and six assists.
Tony Harding scored 17 points and
Stone McCreary added 14.
In a game that had 20 lead changes, Kenny converted a three-point play with under a minute to go put MU ahead for good, 88-85, and he added four three throws in the final 20 seconds.
Harding opened the second half with a layup to give the Cougars a 48-40 lead, but Wesley rallied to eventually take a 68-62 lead with 9:41 to play.
The teams traded the lead over the next seven minutes with Wesley holding an 85-83 lead to set the stage for Kenny who pulled MU even with a pair of throws to start a string of seven consecutive points.
After taking an early lead, the Cougars trailed by eight points, 26-18, with 11:16 left in the first half before rallying.
McCreary and Kenny both made three-pointers to put MU ahead, 40-38, with 2:44 to go.
Kenny added a three-point play a minute later and McCreary closed the half with a three-pointer to give the Cougars a 46-40 lead.
Misericordia, 5-5, is off until January 2 when they travel to TCNJ.
