MU Women Cruise Past Dickinson to Improve to 11-0

Box Score The Misericordia University women's basketball team remained undefeated with a 72-64 win, Sunday afternoon at Dickinson.

Tessa Zamolyi scored 16 points and Rachel Carmody and Paige Wampole both had double-doubles as the Cougars improved to 11-0.

Carmody had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Wampole had 11 points, 14 rebounds, three blocked shots and three steals.

The teams traded buckets throughout much of the first half before Jordan Barth made two free throws to put the Cougars ahead for good, 27-26, with 1:09 left in the first half.

Japriya Carroll added two free throws and MU led 29-26 at halftime.

The Cougars opened the third quarter with an 11-0 run and maintain a double-digit lead for much of the second half.

Carmody's layup in the opening minute made it 31-26 and Kalynn Sefcik followed with a three-pointer to put MU up 34-26.

Carroll sandwiched a pair of baskets around a layup from Wampole for a 40-26 lead with 6:49 left in the third quarter.

Dickinson closed to within eight points late in the third period, but Misericordia used another spurt early in the fourth quarter to take its biggest lead of the day, 67-46, with just 5:22 to play.

The final eight-point margin was a close as Dickinson got the rest of the way.

Misericordia will host Penn College, Thursday.
