The Misericordia men's volleyball team fell to Arcadia in three sets, Thursday night in Glenside, PA.

The Cougars fall to 11-14 on the season and 1-8 in conference play while the Knights improve to 11-9 and 5-2 in the MAC.

Matt Lavin hit .556 and led the Cougars with six kills along with Caleb Bauder who also had six kills.

Bailey Brugler had 20 assists and an ace and Michael Mohutsky had five digs to pace Misericordia.

The Knights jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first set and never looked back as the Cougars were unable to string consecutive points together as Acradia went on to win the set 25-12.

Ryan Miller started the second set with a kill to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead. Arcadia responded to take a 5-3 lead, but MU scored three straight points to go up one. With the Cougars up 8-7, Arcadia went on a 6-0 run to take control of the set and eventually win it, 25-14.

Misericordia faced another early hole in the third set as they saw themselves down 6-1. A kill by Lavin and a bad set by the Knights pulled the Cougars to within three at 15-12. Down 19-14 later in the set, MU went on a 5-1 run, getting two kills from Bauder and one from Michael Trygar along with two Arcadia errors to pull within one.

Arcadia scored three of the next five points to take a two-point lead, but a kill by Miller and an ace by Bauder tied the set at 23. However, the Knights won the next two points to win the set and the match.

The Cougars will travel to Widener, Saturday to take on the Pride at 1:00 in Middle Atlantic Conference action. The Cougars defeated Widener in three sets earlier in the season.
